حتی اگر روزی برسد که نه فقیر باشد و نه غنی، باز هم انسانها به دو دستهٔ دانا و نادان، زیرک و ساده تقسیم خواهند شد؛ چون همیشه چنین بوده و همیشه چنین خواهد بود. مردِ نیرومند پایش را بر گردنِ ناتوان میگذارد؛ مردِ حیلهگر کیسهٔ سادهدل را میرباید و نادان را به کار برای خود وامیدارد. انسان معاملهگری کجرفتار است و حتی فضیلتش نیز ناقص است. تنها کسی که میخوابد و دیگر هرگز برنمیخیزد، کاملاً نیک است
